Novonesis CaneShakti™ is a revolutionary Harpin αβ protein-based biostimulant that stimulates the development of sugarcane plants by activating their physiological potential and enabling them to extract maximum available resources during the production cycle.
CaneShakti™ activates the protein receptors in the living tissues of the plant. Their message is amplified and transmitted systemically throughout the plant, optimizing crop yield and productivity and strengthening its natural defense system to better withstand abiotic stresses such as drought and high temperatures.

Active ingredient: Harpin αβ protein
Harpin αβ, the active ingredient in CaneShakti™, consists of a combination of four harpin protein fragments derived from three naturally occurring bacteria. It initiates a complex set of metabolic responses in the treated plant, causing natural gene expression and eliciting a plant’s natural growth and defense systems. Product efficacy is based on its ability to activate the plant’s own internal defense and growth mechanisms.

Modes of action
CaneShakti™ activates both the Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) response and the Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR) response simultaneously. With the application of CaneShakti™, the Harpin proteins bind to plant receptors, initiating a set of complex signaling pathways including:
- Salicylic acid dependent activation (ISR response)
- Jasmonic acid/ethylene pathway activation (SAR response)
- Growth pathways which increase photosynthesis and nutrient uptake
