Quara® LowP for pre-treatment of renewable diesel (HVO/HEFA)

Novonesis Quara® LowP for pre-treatment of feedstock for renewable diesel production allows you to increase your oil yield and reduce operating costs. It removes unwanted contaminants, phosphorus and metals from canola and soybean oils as well as blends of vegetable oils with waste oils and animal fats. That means you can consistently meet end-product specifications for phosphorus levels and metals when processing diverse feedstocks.
Product features, details and benefits
- Extra yield levels*
Up to 2.0% on your crush and refining operations. More yield and less bleacing clay when processing mix feedstocks.
- Improved sustainability
By generating more oil, this product allows you to get more with lower raw material and process inputs. That can potentially reduce greenhouse gas emissions from your process by up to 2%. On top of that, the process of reheating during centrifugation step is eliminated, resulting in reduced energy consumption.
- Reduced operating costsThis product works at higher temperature and lower pH. That means you can reduce operating costs.
- Working pH range
3.8 to 4.2
- Working temperature range
60°C -70°C
Quara® LowP releases more neutral oil. That's because its high activity on phospholipids means it hydrolyzes more of them. That allows you to increase your oil yield and your profitability. This robust and innovative PLA1 enzyme weakens the emulsifying properties of gums. That makes phosphorous removal easier. With Quara®LowP you also reduce the need for acid and caustic soda in your refining process. That means a reduction in the formation of low value by-products like gums and soap.
