What are aflatoxins?

The most common and most toxic aflatoxin is B1. When dairy animals eat feed contaminated with B1, it's metabolized into aflatoxin M1. This is then excreted in milk. Aflatoxin M1 is a known carcinogen, posing serious health risks to anyone who consumes it.
