We exist to better our world with biology. Our sustainability ambition is to leave a positive impact on people and on the planet through our innovation, operations and employees. People. Planet. Positive.  

We are committed to delivering biosolutions that enable a healthier planet with healthier people. We call this positive impact on the world our handprint. Our biological products can help drive decarbonization, revitalize nature, enable healthy lives and transform food systems.

At the same time, we have high standards for reducing our footprint, the environmental impact of our production and supply chain and fostering an inclusive culture.

Double materiality

In 2024, we conducted a Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) to inform our sustainability strategy by assessing both financial and impact materiality. The assessment identified nine key ESG topics and one Novonesis specific topic, innovation, providing a solid basis for informed decision-making with positive outcomes for people and the environment. In 2025, we reviewed the DMA and reaffirmed the original results.
