Want to put an end to fuzz and pills?
Consumers who see signs of aging on their clothes such as fuzz and pills, color fading and surface roughness are likely to discard them even if they’re still in style. Care cellulases in your detergent can save clothes from premature disposal.
What if your detergent kept clothes new longer?
While buying new clothes may seem like a fix for fuzz and pills, frequent replacement isn’t great for the planet—or your wallet. With 66% of consumers willing to pay more for sustainable goods, detergent quality matters too. Care cellulases keep fabrics smooth, colors vibrant, and clothes looking new longer.
Two things that particularly annoy consumers
Most consumers enjoy the confident feeling of wearing new clothes and feel irritated when cotton fabrics look dull and rough after a few washes. In a study by Efficience 3, 71% were annoyed by fuzz and pills, which ruin softness. With 54% calling clothes "worn out" after 20 washes, preventing fuzz and pills is key.

What causes fuzz and pills?
Cotton fibers are made up of layers of interlinking tiny threads known as fibrils. As the fibers age, some fibrils become damaged or come loose and protrude from the fibers. The longer ones create fuzz on the surface of the fabric. When they get tangled together, they create fuzzballs, also known as pills.

Why consumers discard clothes
Too many people throw out clothes prematurely because they look worn. Research shows that after about 20 washes, consumers usually consider a garment "worn out." Common reasons include fabric surfaces developing fuzz or pills, and colors changing or fading.
Watch fabric keep its new look with cellulases
The cellulose molecules in cotton fibers are long glucose chains. Care cellulases target and cut fibrils with many damaged or loose chains, breaking them down for removal. This leaves colors brighter, patterns clearer, and clothes smoother.
