Product features, details and benefits

  • Improves grain quality, softness and fluffinessIf they weren't removed, the protein components that sit between the leather-making fibres would cement the fibres together. That would make the final leather harder. By removing these components, this product increases softness and fluffiness.

  • Better dyeing propertiesWrinkles, marks and other variations can cause inconsistencies in dyeing. That will impact finished products. This product relaxes elastin and fibers to reduce these variations.

  • Fully biodegradableThis product is both biodegradable and renewable. That means it has minimal environmental impact.

  • Good synergy with acid lipaseOur acid lipase Novocor ADL® is ideal for degreasing of small skins. Combining this product with Novocor ADL® leads to synergies that boost its benefits in acid bating.

  • Reduction of wrinklesThis product softens and relaxes elastin and fibers. That smoothes out and reduces wrinkles.

How do enzymes work in acid bating of wet blue, pickled sheepskins and double face

The non-homogeneity of  wet-blue, pickled sheepskins and double face causes problems for tanneries. A secondary, acid bating step improves consistency and uniformity.

The non-homogeneity of wet blue, pickled sheep skins and double face make them challenging for tanneries.  A secondary, acid bating step improves the uniformity of hides and skins sourced from various origins.

Acid bating or re-bating is this secondary step. It further improves tanning and finishing processes for these raw materials.  Acid bating  removes wrinkles and improves evenness, softness, and uniformity in the dyeing process.

By reducing performance differences in hides and skins sourced from various origins, acid bating enzymes allow tanneries to standardize subsequent processing. That makes their production easier to manage.
