Traditional water degumming can result in up to 5% oil loss, as phospholipids are removed whole - dragging valuable neutral oil into the gum phase. While this method is widely used, it leaves valuable oil behind.
With our innovative phospholipase C (PLC) enzymatic solutions, Quara® Supreme and Quara® Boost, you can recover much of this lost oil and boost overall yields by up to 2%*. These enzymes split phospholipids, releasing diglycerides into the oil phase and minimizing oil entrapment - without generating free fatty acids (FFA) or compromising phosphorus levels.
