Istilos™ B. infantis

Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis Istilos™ (shortened to Istilos™) is a bacterium native to the human infant gut. It is uniquely adapted to feed on HMOs found in breast milk, infant formula, and supplements. Istilos™ produces metabolites known to support the development of the immune system and gut barrier function1, 2.
A clinical trial showed that seeding by infant supplementation rapidly increased colonization without complete dominance, and that Istilos™ thrives in the infant gut1.
